They took x-rays, since she has only 6 of her permanent teeth. After a scare for me wherein they thought she was MISSING (!!!) her lateral incisor, they took a few more films and "found" it. The problem is that it's coming in one tooth further down, and rotated more than 90 degrees from where it should be.
Among the possibilities now:
- extraction of one or more teeth to give that tooth more room to come in
- a palate expander (which is kind of like pre-braces, as I understand it.)
Our dentist/friend said she's DEFINTELY going to need braces.
Ah, well, what are you going to do?
