Just another weekend in the country...

Our friends the Amars came out from JC on Saturday. We decided to partake in all the local fall fun. Apple-picking at Melick's in Oldwick, then up to Hacklebarney Farm for the corn maze and pumpkin-picking.

Unlike some of the other corn mazes in the area, Hacklebarney just sends you off into the corn. No map. No questions at the crossroads to guide you. Just you and a lot of corn. VERY tall corn. The girls were all so funny; "We're going to die in here" became a regular refrain! After re-tracing our steps more than once, the adults among us did wish we had brought a bottle of water...or even something stronger.

Our cardinal rule for pumpkin-picking: you must be able to carry your choice. That ensures that when the kiddies have tired of carrying their prize that Daddy can lug them out of the field.
