"Prettiest" & "Most Original"

I'm completely aware that most parents (yours truly included) think the above are apt descriptions of their daughters.

But it's a treat when others bestow them with these designations, especially so at Halloween.

We all went into Oldwick for the Halloween parade there today. For the first time in our five years here we did not march in Pottersville yesterday. The weather was just too miserable.

Gillian accepted compliments on her candy buttons costume very graciously, and was rewarded with the "Most Original" ribbon. Much to her surprise, Holly was also a winner, for "Prettiest" in her age group.



The Girl Scouts had games and a haunted house set up, with lots of good eats. All in all, it was a nice, crisp fall day in the country. Tonight will bring the first frost, so we're bringing in wood for a fire.
